Alyssa started line dancing competitively not too long ago. She has been around line dancing basically her whole life, as her mum has always been involved in it. Alyssa travelled to Tamworth one year to watch her mum compete, and she then decided she would like to be involved in it herself. She was inspired by watching the kids from the team (Red Hot & Country), and other teams such as Pacific and Cowboys & Angels.
Alyssa continued to dance socially, then she was spotted by one of the Red Hot & Country trainers Kristen, for her outstanding ability to dance, and was asked to join the team. She has been a part of Red Hot & Country for one year now.
After joining the team, she only had three weeks to prepare for her first competition! Alyssa had to learn how to not only flick her hat, but also spin it, which usually take several months of practise. She tackled the skills well, and adapted them at the competition in her routine was dance partner at the time Lauren McNeil at North Sydney.

Alyssa had an outstanding first competition by winning two gold medals, a silver medal and bronze medal - a medal for everything she went in! This encouraged Alyssa to want to dance and learn more and continued to have a passion for line dancing.
Alyssa was more prepared for her next competition, which was Super Line Dance, where she proved her winnings at North Sydney weren’t beginners luck, Alyssa claimed three medals, a 1st,2nd and 3rd!
Alyssa’s next competition was at Shoalhaven. Along with the team and her partner at the time Lauren, she won two gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal, and along with the medals, she also won prize money.
Tamworth was the next big competition for Alyssa, after months and months of hard practising, she came home with an extraordinary truckload of medals, which included 6 gold medals, 2 silver medals and a bronze medal. She was more than happy with her achievements. Some of these titles include Under 16 years and Open Age events. |
